Equine Full Mortality
- Full Mortality is a form of life insurance on your horse. It comes into play if your insured horse dies from a covered accident, illness, injury, disease, theft, humane destruction, or shipping incident during the policy term. In addition, the mortality policy generally includes coverage for emergency colic surgery. Please reach out for a quote as coverage options are based on your horse’s breed, age, value, and intended use.


Limited Mortality
Death due to specific accidental causes.
Limited Mortality is a form of life insurance for specific accidental causes. Death due to sickness or disease will not be covered. The following is a list of the accidental causes resulting in death covered by the policy:
(a) fire, lightning, explosion, or smoke resulting therefrom;
(b) windstorm, hurricane, tornado, hail, earthquake, or flood;
(c) drowning;
(d) artificial electricity;
(e) collapse of building;
(f) attack by dogs or wild animals;\
(g) accidental shooting except by you or your agents, employees, or representatives;
(h) collision or overturning of any motor vehicle in which the “horse” is being transported, other than collision with your vehicles or vehicles of your agents, employees, or representatives;
(i) sinking, burning, or collision of vessels in which the “horse” is being conveyed on inland waterways only;
(j) collision, derailment, or overturning of a conveyance in which the “horse” is being transported by railroad (but the coming together of railroad cars during coupling operations will not be deemed a collision);
(k) objects falling from aircraft;
(l) accident to an aircraft in which the “horse” is being transported;
(m) where the “horse” is destroyed while on board an aircraft in flight at the order of the person responsible for the safety of the aircraft who confirms in a sworn statement that in his or her opinion the “horse” was so uncontrollable (berserk) as to have been a danger at that time to the safety of the aircraft, crew, passengers, or cargo.
Major Medical & Surgical Plans

Major Medical & Surgical Plans offer reimbursement for covered veterinary expenses including but not limited to surgeries, accidents, lameness, and illnesses. Premium and coverage options may vary based on the breed, age, value, and use of your horse, so please reach out to see what your horse qualifies for.


Additional Coverage Options
Overseas and/or International Flight Coverage:
- Extends mortality and/or medical coverage while your horse is overseas competing or being imported or exported.
Loss of Use
- Offers reimbursement for a portion of the horse’s full mortality coverage if a vet determines that your horse is permanently unable to perform their intended use at any level again.
Stallion Infertility
- Infertility coverage for proven stallions who can no longer be used for breeding
